If you’re grappling with overgrowth, weeds, or land clearing at your civil, government, or corporate property, then it’s important to get on top of your vegetation management to reduce delays, compliance risks, and safety issues.
At Solve Civil, we make vegetation management simple. We’ll be your head contractor and a single point of accountability, delivering vegetation works alongside earthworks, erosion control, and revegetation.

Vegetation management involves the planned control of trees, shrubs, weeds, grasses, and other plant growth across a location. It’s implemented through three main ways: mechanical, chemical, and biological methods.
For civil and infrastructure projects, vegetation management services include:
While vegetation management and land clearing share similarities, they differentiate based on frequency and extent of vegetation removal: vegetation management is ongoing and selective, while land clearing is one-off and total.
At Solve Civil, we implement a full range of vegetation management methods, which are chosen to suit your site, vegetation, and compliance requirements.
Mechanical vegetation control uses machinery to remove or cut vegetation. It’s best used at:
Some of the machines our people use include excavators with mulching heads, slashers, and chippers.
We also use remote-controlled mowers to clear dense bush and steep slopes that are too dangerous for ride-on lawn mowers to handle, as well as drones to give a safe overview of the site before beginning work.
Involving the targeted application of EPA-approved products, chemical and herbicide treatments are used to control weeds, invasive species, and regrowth. If you need weed control on clear sites, ongoing maintenance of access tracks and easements, or want to prevent regrowth after mechanical clearing, then chemical and herbicide treatments are the right choice.
When Solve Civil uses chemical treatments, we target weeds only, leaving native vegetation untouched. All of our treatments are carried out by fully licensed staff, and we keep full records for all of your compliance reporting needs.
Biological control and revegetation are used to re-establish desired vegetation to overwhelm weeds, stabilise soil, and meet your environmental management plan requirements. Our biological control involves the application of native seeds, tube stock planting, and mulching, supported by hydroseeding and hydromulching for large-area revegetation.
Our biological control and revegetation are part of a progressive site rehabilitation program. This can be particularly beneficial for mining and quarry sites.
Selective clearing involves removing vegetation in a planned and precise manner. It lets you retain identified trees and habitat features while removing only what your project plan, council approval, or environmental management requires.
At Solve Civil, our selective clearing integrates with all your other site preparation needs. We can sequence all of your clearing, earthworks, and soil stabilisation as part of a single program. Before we begin clearing, we’ll carry out pre-clearance checks for fauna, and we will even deploy animal catchers if required.
When you need vegetation management, it’s rarely in isolation. It sits within a broader sequence of works at your site that need to be completed, across three phases.
Solve Civil self-delivers at every stage of your project life cycle. Erosion control services, hydroseeding, and soil stabilisation are all done in-house, with no need for additional contractors.

Vegetation management frameworks in New South Wales sit under several pieces of legislation, and falling afoul of any of them can create serious risk to your project.
The Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 governs vegetation clearing on most NSW land outside rural areas. It’s aimed at protecting biodiversity and assessing the environmental impact of proposed clearing activities, especially where native vegetation or vulnerable habitats could be affected.
Rural and regional land, meanwhile, falls under the NSW Local Land Services vegetation guidelines. These guidelines outline how landholders and contractors should manage vegetation responsibly while balancing agricultural use, land management outcomes, and environmental protection obligations.
Finally, the NSW EPA oversees environmental protections relating to soil disturbance, runoff management, and pollution prevention to minimise impacts on waterways and surrounding ecosystems.
At Solve Civil, we work in accordance with all relevant NSW EPA, local land services, and council requirements. We support our clients with all the required information for compliance reporting, so you’ll never be caught short.

While every site’s vegetation management needs are different, we at Solve Civil have developed a consistent, four-step process—following strict safety and quality protocols every day—to ensure our work is scoped accurately, delivered safely, and signed off cleanly.
1. Site Assessment & Drone Survey
Our site assessment begins with a Solve Civil team member scoping your works, identifying access constraints, and checking the vegetation types on the ground. If you have a particularly large, steep, or hard-to-access site, we'll use a drone to capture footage for a full aerial view. This drone survey creates an accurate map of vegetation, access points, and terrain features that inform our method and our quote.
2. Planning & Compliance Check
We'll review your approvals (including vegetation management plans, council consent, and environmental management plans) and confirm the methods, machinery, and crew required for the job. Throughout the process, we'll confirm compliance with NSW EPA sediment and erosion controls, the Local Land Services and Biodiversity Conservation Act requirements, alongside any other project-specific obligations.
3. On-Site Delivery
The Solve Civil team will mobilise on your site, fully equipped for the job. We'll bring our remote-controlled mowers for steep and dense areas, slashers and mulchers for open ground, and chemical control where needed.
Throughout our clearing process, we'll have multiple safety precautions in place, including exclusion zones, traffic management for adjacent roads, and fauna spotting and catching where required.
4. Sign-Off & Aerial Evidence
With the vegetation clearing done, we'll carry out our post-works inspections. Our drones will capture before-and-after photos, and they'll be your evidence for client reporting and compliance sign-off. We'll also provide a handover for follow-on works, such as erosion control services, hydroseeding, and hydromulching.
For years, Solve Civil has delivered polished car park products that have been tailored to our customers’ needs. By operating as a head contractor, we cut down on the personal management and delegation work that clients typically have to deal with during construction; thus, saving you time, money and effort.
You'll have a single point of accountability, from planning through to handover.
Our remote-controlled mowers and drones mean safer crews, coverage of steeper terrain and denser brush, and a clean aerial evidence trail for compliance reporting.
Vegetation, earthworks, erosion control, hydromulching, hydroseeding, and soil stabilisation are all done by the Solve Civil team in-house.
Trusted by councils, educational organisations and more

Beyond our vegetation management, we have a variety of other services that can be seamlessly integrated as part of your site’s management. Take a look at some of our offerings below.
Yes, in most cases you will need approval to clear vegetation in NSW under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 or Local Land Services Act 2013. At Solve Civil, we only work under your approved plans and do not give legal advice; always check with your council or Local Land Services for approval enquiries.
Solve Civil exclusively works on government, council, infrastructure, mining, and corporate civil projects. If you have residential vegetation needs, we advise seeking another management partner.
The cost of vegetation management services varies, depending on the type of vegetation on the site, accessibility, and the methods needed to remove unwanted vegetation. Contact us for a tailored quote.
