The Adamstown Depot required extensive pavement repairs, stormwater upgrades and kerb restorations within an active army barracks. The challenge included managing deteriorated infrastructure, working in a secure environment and maintaining military operations without disruption. Unexpected subgrade issues added further complexity, requiring quick adaptation to mitigate potential project delays. Coordination with multiple stakeholders, strict security compliance and severe wet weather conditions were all factors that increased the project’s complexity.
We employed a phased approach to address the project’s demands efficiently, with full-time supervision by cleared personnel. We ensured secure operations by maintaining communication with Defence officials throughout each stage. Advanced stormwater management techniques were implemented to mitigate unexpected issues, while specialised paving and drainage solutions addressed infrastructure deterioration. Strict adherence to military safety standards allowed for simultaneous operations and proactive stakeholder engagement enabled minimal disruption to the depot’s daily activities.
The project was completed on time, within budget and with zero defects, encompassing 12,650m² of asphalt work. The stakeholders were highly satisfied with the finished infrastructure. The 3,700m² full-depth reconstruction, 8,700m² mill and resheet and 250m² deep lift pavement were all executed to high standards, improving both operational safety and efficiency at the site. The successful execution of this project demonstrated Solve Civil’s capability to meet stringent requirements in secure, operational environments.
