Once you’ve cleared, mined, or otherwise disturbed a site, you’ll more often than not have to carry out revegetation projects to meet compliance, secure a handover, or generally restore land. That’s a lot of responsibility to take on, but Solve Civil is up to the task.
At Solve Civil, we’ll be your head contractor for all your revegetation needs. You’ll partner with a single, accountable provider, who can deliver revegetation planting, hydroseeding, weed control, and post-works monitoring as one fully integrated package. Best of all, our drone-led pre-works assessment and post-works imagery give you clear compliance evidence and survival audits.

Revegetation is the planned re-establishment of native plants on land which has been cleared, mined, or otherwise disturbed. It usually consists of site preparation, species selection, seeding or planting, and ongoing maintenance. Revegetation is distinct from landscaping: it uses locally-sourced native species and is connected to environmental outcomes, whereas landscaping is largely decorative.
For civil, mining, and infrastructure projects, revegetation is implemented to stabilise soil, meet biodiversity requirements, and return land to a productive or natural state. Revegetation is also useful for post-works site rehabilitation, mine closure, erosion stabilisation, and riparian restoration.
At Solve Civil, we implement a full range of vegetation management methods, which are chosen to suit your site, vegetation, and compliance requirements.
The application of native seeds directly to prepared ground by hand, mechanically, or hydroseeding, direct seeding is best for large-area rehabilitation, mine batters, road and rail corridor verges, as well as sites where tube stock isn’t cost-effective. All of our seeds are locally-sourced per your project plan or BAM credit obligations.
Tube stock involves planting out nursery-grown native seedlings to scale. It’s best used for sites that need quick canopy establishment, biodiversity offset sites with species-specific obligations, riparian zones, council reserves, and high-visibility public land works.
Our tube stock program covers the full range of planting density, guards, watering programs, and maintenance requirements. Additionally, tube stock planting is an excellent option for soil stabilisation on steep or erosion-prone sites.
Hydromulching and hydroseeding involves spraying a seed-bound mulch slurry across a large area, ensuring fast erosion cover and seed establishment all in one. These methods help reduce erosion, which is crucial for protecting waterways and stabilising slopes. It’s often deployed at large rehabilitation sites, as well as mines, infrastructure corridors, and any sites where ground access is too steep or extensive.
Our assisted natural regeneration program involves managing existing seed banks and remnant vegetation to encourage natural recovery, supported by weed control and selective planting. It’s best used at sites with intact native seed banks, bushland reserves, and riparian zones with ecological values still present.
Solve Civil’s revegetation services are designed to fulfil the needs of civil, government, mining, and corporate clients, across the following types of sites.
Our revegetation services can be implemented as part of multiple mining-related projects, including:
Whichever project type you’re handling, our revegetation services can be integrated as part of a wider rehabilitation package, including earthworks, erosion control, and ongoing monitoring. We’ll carry out all of our revegetation in line with the NSW EPA and mine site closure obligations.
Solve Civil’s revegetation programs satisfy multiple Biodiversity Offset Scheme obligations, including
We deliver our services under an approved Biodiversity Stewardship Agreement or offset management plan. While we don’t provide BAM assessments, we do complete the on-ground work to meet them.
Our revegetation services cover:
As part of our work, we’ll coordinate with traffic management, rail possessions, and council programme requirements.
At Solve Civil, our revegetation projects encompass:
Throughout our revegetation works, we’ll be your head contractor, covering earthworks, erosion control services, and hydroseeding.

All revegetation services in NSW sit under multiple frameworks, and it’s important to stay on top of them. Failed audits, remedial costs, and delayed sign-off are all costly errors which can delay your project.
In NSW, the three main frameworks are:
We work to all relevant NSW EPA, BAM, and council requirements, and provide all the information and aerial evidence you require for compliance reporting.

Although every site we visit is different, we follow the same number of steps to make sure revegetation is scoped properly, delivered on program, and signed off with compliance evidence. Here’s what our four-step process looks like.
1. Site Assessment & Drone Survey
A Solve Civil team member visits your site to assess its soil condition, slope, access, existing vegetation, and weed pressure. If it's difficult to access on foot, we'll use a drone to capture a full aerial overview.
2. Planning & Species Selection
With the site assessed, we'll review your approved revegetation or offset management plan, confirming target revegetation species, as well as source quality seed and tube stock from approved providers, and lock in a planting schedule.
3. Site Preparation & Planting
Our site prep involves weed control, ripping, contouring, and soil amendment where required. Planting is delivered using the correct method for the site, whether it's direct seeding, tube stock, hydromulching, or a combination of the above.
4. Monitoring, Maintenance & Sign-Off
Once we've finished planting, our post-works maintenance begins. This includes follow-up weed control, infill planting (where survival rates dip below the project target), and watering during establishment if scoped.
We’re a single point of accountability, from site assessment through to post-works monitoring at your property.
Solve Civil works to NSW EPA, Local Land Services, BOS, and Biodiversity Conservation Act requirements as standard.
We'll help you achieve revegetation goals and support biodiversity recovery. Revegetation, vegetation management, earthworks, erosion control, hydromulching, hydroseeding, and soil stabilisation are all done in-house by us.

Besides revegetation, we have a variety of other services that can be seamlessly integrated as part of your site’s management. Take a look at some of our offerings below.Â
Revegetation uses locally-sourced native species, and is linked to ecological or compliance outcomes, such as biodiversity offsets and mine rehabilitation. Landscaping, on the other hand, is decorative and uses ornamental species, and is not tied to compliance outcomes.
Generally, most native revegetation works start to establish within 6 to 12 months, with ongoing maintenance and monitoring required for 2 to 5 years to satisfy compliance survival rates. The specific timeframe can depend on species, site conditions, and the project’s compliance requirements.
Yes, we do. Solve Civil delivers on-ground revegetation works to meet NSW Biodiversity Offset Scheme obligations under your approved management plan.
The price of carrying out revegetation at your site depends on the size of your site, species selection, planting method, site preparation needs, and monitoring duration. Contact Solve Civil to receive a tailored quote.
Yes, we can. Our revegetation is offered alongside integrated solutions for earthworks, erosion control, hydromulching, soil stabilisation, and vegetation management. You’ll have a single contract and single point of accountability throughout each process.
