This is a new Church built to serve local residences of the area. Built to look like a house, it blends in well with the surrounding residential subdivision.
Steel I Beams and timber-look concrete sleepers were selected for this Retaining Wall that ranged from 600mm – 2400mm high, and was installed with rear ag drainage and a safety fence along the top of the wall.
Details:
Due to the very high retaining needed, special engineering was required
Heavy Galvanised I beams were installed up to 4000mm into the ground
For walls up to 100mm high, double thickness concrete sleepers were used on the first 4 courses
Installation was done using a specialist boring contractor as the ground was very hard and 450mm diameter x 4000mm deep piers were required
Installation included rear ag drainage and connection to stormwater system, along with a safety tubular pool style fence along the top of the wall for fall safety
