The existing car park required resurfacing to improve durability and drainage, while an additional parking area was needed to accommodate growing demand. The project had to be completed efficiently, ensuring proper stormwater management and minimal environmental impact.
The existing car park was excavated, leveled, and resurfaced with a new concrete dish drain to improve water flow. A 250mm thick recycled concrete DGB20 road base was compacted and sealed with a two-coat spray seal for long-term durability. Simultaneously, a new 1,475 sqm parking area was excavated and graded to direct rainwater into the existing drainage system. Recycled asphalt was compacted in layers to create a stable surface. Line marking for 30+ spaces, traffic control signage, and temporary fencing ensured a functional and safe layout.
The upgraded car park now offers increased capacity, a more durable surface, and improved stormwater management. The use of recycled materials minimized environmental impact, while the enhancements ensure long-term usability with reduced maintenance requirements.
