Goodman Properties are a major industrial property group owning logistics facilities, warehouses and business parks globally.
At a significant warehouse development in Huntingwood in Sydney’s Western suburbs, a major defect causing a 3000mm high core-filled blockwork wall to crack and fail and start to fall. This was a significant safety and property damage risk as the adjoining warehouse was only 1500mm away for the wall.
Working along with the personnel and contractors responsible for the buildings in Goodman’s Western Sydney portfolio, Solve Civil assisted in the structural and geotechnical investigation works, leading to the decision on the best way of remediating the wall, by installing a series of ground anchors, installing a new wall and removing a section of the defective wall
- Cut and remove 1200mm of wall height over the defective length
- Cut, batter and detail excavation of fill behind wall to boundary
- Validate and remove excess soil
- Install new engaged pier and concrete timber look sleepers along boundary
- Remediate landscape area with silt mat control medium
